Overview

Embark on a guided tour of Berchtesgaden Mountains, Hitler's mountain retreat and the southern headquarters of the Nazi party on a full day coach trip from Munich. Eagle's Nest is a mountain top lodge built by the Nazis, and is a fascinating sight of historical significance. Located at 6,148 feet (1,834 meters) on top of Mt Kehlstein, the lodge has some of Germany's most amazing views of the Alps mountain range. Ironically, Hitler suffered from vertigo and rarely took pleasure in the views.

Fabulous tour of Eagle’s Nest Berchtesgadener Land & Obersalzberg

The trip was the last day the tour was operating as a result of the change of season (entering the winter season) The scenery was spectacular and the commentary by Wolfram was extremely detailed and most informative. Wolfram’s love of the pristine environment was obvious and especially his personal love of the cows grazing in the green fields. His knowledge and history of the countryside amazing and presented beautifully. Cheers Wolfram and our most courteous driver Bobby.
Such an interesting tour and well worth the value

View from top of Eagles’s nest was breathtakingly beautiful. Though trip from Munich was - 2 hrs but it was well worth it.

Wolfi did a great job of timing our experience on Eagle’s Nest to not have rain and have sun. The bus driver was excellent as well.
Worth the experience

Directions were a little lacking in how to find where we were going. We were given a corner, but didn't know we were looking for the busses and not a building. Our guide was good if a bit hard to understand at times, but overall a good experience. Paid for the entry fee on the bus (credit card) as there is a possibility of not being able to get up to the Eagle's Nest if weather is poor.

You take the bus (was no air conditioning, so it was pretty warm) to the base site then transfer to a shuttle bus that takes you up to the elevator to enter the Eagle's Nest. On our day the weather was very cloudy, so unfortunately we did not get a good view of anything.

Then you stop in a quaint little town for a small bit to do a bit of souvenir shopping before the 2 hour drive back.
